We, a family of 5 (with three teenagers), spent a great week here visiting relatives in Preston. Two people in each bedroom and one on the double sofabed set in an alcove of the living room.
It's in a good location - close to motorways and also to Preston - and a very good base for exploring the wonderful north-west of England. If you have young chukren, they'll adore the playground.
The kitchen and bathroom are downstairs; the living room and bedroms are upstairs. As others have mentioned, the bathroom sink is tiny! Not a problem though; we used the kitchen sink for washing and brushing teeth. It was fine. Well equipped with pretty much everything you'll need.
A nice 10-minute walk past the playground and through the park gets you to Station Road. Turn right and the big Morrisons supermarket is 100m away.
Restaurants we can recommend:
Gusto Italia around the corner on School Lane for pizza (1km away);
Jaffa, on Friargate in Preston for really excellent falafel, Arabian salad & tabbouleh (they do meat too, but we're vegetarian!);
The Continental pub in Preston;
RK Dining on Plungington Road - for excellent Indian food (eat in or take way and heat at home);
Pizza Rana - if you're lucky enough to find them at a farmer's market or other event.
Everything you need in a 2 bedroom accommodation. Good sized rooms, comfortable and quiet.
The road network means that you are quick to get around. Manchester airport in 40 mins, subject to traffic. I understand that Liverpool, the Lake District? and other popular places are easily accessed in 60 mins.
I used it for work, so have no idea about the area, other than the signs
