Owner description: DZG is unique… a home to more than 1300 animals, and has nigh on 200 species, including some of the rarest creatures on Planet Earth. Hundreds of exotic and endangered animals inhabit an ancient wooded hillside, with a rich geological history, around the ruins of the 11th century Dudley Castle and share a site with the world’s largest single collection of Modernist Tecton structures – and the country’s only vintage chairlift!

Went to zoo yesterday for under 5 day. It was excellent. New beach area was lovely but would suggest that a bit of shade over it for sun or rain would be helpful. Also don’t put a sign about plastics in the ocean next to the slush puppie vendor, how ironic! But lovely day, food was fine and reasonably priced. Animals and visitors are well cared for.

We visited on Sunday and we were so impressed - the Zoo is clean and the animals all looked well and happy, keepers were helpful and informative and happy to interact with visitors. The Tecton buildings were really impressive and its nice to see that some of them are still used for animals! The lemur walk was amazing - brilliant to be able to interact so closely with them!
A great day out - highly recommended!!

We have annual membership as there are many wonderful animals to see and the zoo is making loads of improvements everywhere.

The birthday party for our two year old was fab .. really good presents given to all children, great hands on experience with animals especially feeding the meerkats and really good food for all the littlies. Such good value for money.

Thanks again

It was ok but have been to better zoos. Really shocked that an attraction that is so oriented towards families has no no smoking policy. There were people smoking everywhere which really put us off.

Thank you for leaving us your feedback. We do comply with legislation and have no smoking policies in all our buildings. We also display signage requesting that visitors do not smoke in areas where people may be eating, such as the castle courtyard, outside of the restaurant etc. where visitors may be having picnics. Although we continuously try to improve the experiences for our visitors, it is very difficult to operate a no smoking policy at an outdoor attraction, but we will take your comments into account when our policy is reviewed..
