After promising to go for a long time we eventually made it there only to realise that the next night was its closing night.
The great news is that they are closing to move to new premises (check out The Royal Oak at Whatcote).
The food and wines were stunning. Not sure what ratings or stars they have, but they should have them all.
Their new premises will be further away for us to travel, but we certainly will be going.

We were lucky to get a table in this tiny friendly restaurant before they moved. Had been wanting to eat here for some time if we were back in the Cotswolds after reading the Guardian review. We went for the 3 course early evening menu, rather than the 4 or 5 course tasting menu. This was amazing value. The bread with whipped pork lard and home made butter was something else - we demolished the whole loaf. It came out hot and fresh from the oven. The food was absolutely exquisite. So we really couldn't eat any more, and were grateful we hadn't gone for more courses.

We ate early and had the window table overlooking the Chipping Campden High St.
A very warm welcome from the staff and advice on the menu. The canapes were a nice surprise as was the gooseberry sorbet later. The food was imaginative and beautifully cooked and served . Notwithstanding the relatively small portions, there was ample in the four course dinner.
A very pleasant evening in a delightful atmosphere!

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary after reading the great reviews and it didn't disappoint. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely staff and really looked after throughout the evening. The food was amazing...yes the portions are smaller, but with 4 courses, canapés, bread and pre desert, who could eat anymore.. the technical skill and presentation was worth it. We also love the fact you have a limited choice to push your boundaries; surely the point is to eat fabulous food you could not create yourself... we were saddened to find out they are moving, but relieved to hear it's not too far away, so we will definitely be visiting when the new place is up and running..

So to the chefs dozen, it's a favourite, armosphere, service etc are are always good and given that they are about to move to another location this was our last visit for a while, overall a great meal, but the additional course of cheese on toast was a disappointment, poorly executed and lacking in taste or substance, it certainly wasn't worth an extra tenner, this was a real shame as everything else was terrific, in fact as a northerner I could do cheese on toast better than this, however overall it was still a very good meal and we will follow them to their new location.
