Had a lovely dinner at the Eight Bells. This pub is an absolute gem with great food and super service. The staff are very friendly and the place is very popular for a good reason.

Visited the pub for Sunday dinner. Overall, we were very impressed. This is somewhat of a cross over between a pub and a restaurant with waitress service at the table and bookings advised - even in the bar area.

The food was high quality and appropriately priced and service was welcoming and efficient.

The village is very pretty and as expected for this area, somewhat touristy. However the pub retains an authentic and old world charm.

Our only minor criticism is that it would have been nice to see a few more vegetarian or vegan options on the menu.

We would definitely return.

We were struggling to find anywhere to eat as most places we tried were fully booked. When we enquired at the Eight Bells, they were able to offer a table for a later sitting at 9pm, which was fine as we had eaten a late lunch.
An extensive menu that went beyond normal pub fayre. Cooked to order and large portions. A great find just off the main street.

I booked a table for four. We arrived and stood in the entrance hall between the bar and the dining room for 5 minutes as waitresses past us in each direction.
When we could finally stop one, told her of our booking she looked around saw an empty table in the bar a d pointed.
Meal was average roasts and bangers and mash. Well prepared and enjoyable however nothing more than home cooked fare.

Over the years we've stopped in for lunch at the Eight Bellseach summer and did so again on a drizzly day a couple weeks ago. I had looked forward to having the duck salad I had had a few times over the years but now it is a pigeon salad and the pigeon was very tough, the greens a bit wilted and the walnuts not crisp. A disappointment. On the other hand, my husband's fish and chips was very good; hence the mixed review.
