I regularly visit this hotel and have had some great experiences. we visited on 30/03/18 having booked our normal business class Junior suite with an extra bed for our child. The staff were not warm on arrival and over the phone. Our room had no fruit platter in our room as advertised. And to our shock no bed for our child except the corner sofa with a duvet and pillow make shift bed. The room was not cleaned up to standard as on our previous visits with hair in the shower and food debris on the bed room table. We do not consume alcohol and requited alternative drinks as usual to replace the alcohol. And again a small thing like this was missed and we found alcohol int he room. Really let down and have second thoughts staying here again.

We stayed here recently before a morning flight to Cancun. My wife and I have stayed here many, many times over the years because of its convenience and the standards.
We booked a business class room which was excellent as usual - clean, extensive and spacious. As usual we were afforded the use of the business class lounge on the 9th Floor. This is a brilliant facility with a wide range of decent quality drinks and some hot and cold canape type snacks. The views from this location across the Airport are stunning and there are probably not many better places to enjoy a large gin and tonic.
The hotel let itself down again badly in the bar where we ordered some food. On recent visits we have been bitterly disappointed with the standard of meals both in the dining room and also the lighter options in the bar; I complained in December about a charred burger and on the previous occasion our pizzas were very poor. Thinking that standards must have improved we opted for pizza again but how wrong we were. Despite requesting the hot and spicy pizzas to be cooked for a little longer they were both under-cooked in the middle; both lacked topping - half a dozen small cubes of processed chicken do not count - and there was no hint of spice at all. Extremely poor value for the net cost I am afraid.
This is genuinely a really good hotel with excellent facilities and some great staff but the standards of catering have definitely declined in the last year or so. When I complained on the last occasion the manager promised to investigate but he does not seem to have generated any improvement. I think that in future we will travel further afield for our dinner.

Room Tip: If you can afford it go business class and ask for an air-side view.

Stayed 2 nights at the end of our trip as we had an early morning international flight back home. Used up some frequent flyer points for the booking which was handled efficiently and without any problems.

Our room looked out onto the runway but the noise insulation is excellent and provided undisturbed sleep. There was plenty of space and a great bathroom with spacious shower.

Our first night coincided with the Manchester Arena bombing and between the hotel staff and our registration with the Australian Government's SmartTraveller, we were reassured and kept well informed. We even travelled into the city centre the next day (through necessity) with the airport having it's own transport hub, The Station, where we caught a train directly to Manchester Piccadilly.

The best part of our stay was walking out of our room and straight into check-in for our flight.

Highly recommended.
