Description: SAMSI has been trading for 19 years in April, specialising in Japanese cuisine and food stuff. It began as an award-winning restaurant, which quickly expanded into four different cities in the North west of England. In response to customer request we began importing and selling ingredients in retail sizes while continuing to search Japan for the highest quality restaurant ingredients. We research every country for trends in Japanese dining in restaurants, hotels, and in homes. From the UK, we can supply worldwide reliably. Our recent expansion has been the manufacture of Japanese ready-meals in noodle, bento-lunchbox, and sushi packs. These have been developed with Manchester Metropolitan University. The taste test studies carried out by the university supported our ideal that the ready meals are restaurant quality. We not only deal with food products, but we also provide tableware to assist you in experiencing the most authentic Japanese style.

Chose Samsi’s as had read reviews and it was the best Japanese near Hilton Double tree. It was ok. Had the Kara age which was a huge portion so couldn’t fault it. However the sushi was passable only. The atmosphere felt more like a Chinese, the waitress’s english seemed a little weak. It was quite on a Wednesday night. Value was good but not sure I’ll return, may spend a little more and try Tattu.

We had some Califonia rolls and other rolls which were very ting. Also some of the rices were hard. The most disappointing dish is Raman Noodles. I had some noodles in London and from other places in the world before. But this place the noodle soup is nothing like authentic noodle soups. And the pork is soury. I only can say this place is not authentic Japanese food. Also the lady in tradition outfit was nice but the lady in black suite is unfriendly and no smile at all during our visit. Please aviod.

The sushi here was delicious! Great variety and served very quickly
However the staff seemed slightly rude and almost judgemental

Every time we visit Manchester for a concert or event we ask the same question, “Where shall we eat”. Sometimes we decided to go somewhere new and everyone we wish we had just come to Samsi. We have tried so many dishes off the menu and never had a bad one. The beer on tap is so clean and fresh and when the bill comes every time we feel like we have got a bargain. Yes the decor is not the most amazing but is comfortable, relaxed and great food that comes quickly as it’s all fresh
