We found this place by chance whilst searching for somewhere for lunch. We absolutely loved our visit here. The food was freshly prepared, locally sourced, and exceptionally tasty. The cafe is ideally situated next to the cathedral and wonderfully decorated with a quirky retro cycling theme. Brilliant jem of a place!

We spend 10 wonderful days in and around Perigueux during Aug 2017 and found the Veloc Cafe to be a veritable oasis on several occasions because it is so conveniently located at the main shopping area. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and the eats and drinks superb. The collection of old bicycles is interesting and what a convenient spot to rent bicycles.

Hungry and desperate for some good food and drink and excellent service. Could not have found a better place. Cute looking little bike festooned frontage. With a few tables outside. Menu du jour looked good so we too advantage. It was a little cooler that day so opted for a table inside. Even more great decor (bike themed) but lovely French books to read at each table and cosy atmosphere - plenty to enjoy while you are dining. Didn't have to wait long for great service. Ordered quickly and food was brought out within 5 mins. Delicious soup and main meals were both superb. A French style sausage and mash and the beef chunks in the hearty soup were delicious. Coffee was very good too. Didn't sample any more food but the cakes looked appetising too. Cool urinal for the boys and lollipops as you paid your bill. Really quirky little eatery almost on the corner half way down the street diagonally opposite the "cathedral". Would definitely go again and recommend to friends and family. Delicious and great service. Thanks.

We have a house nearby which we rent out in the summer (see habitatsabroad.com) so we often explore new places for our guests to visit and this is perfect for an afternoon tea or coffee with cheese and local charcuteries if you miss the lunch run (12-2pm), or perhaps an aperitif before dinner at 7pm. Situated at the side of the Cathedral in a sunny little spot with pavement tables, it prides itself on using local produce and if you feel energetic enough you can hire a bicycle to explore the surrounding town of Perigueux - don't worry some are electric to help you up those hills - and along the riverside and canal which runs right around the town.
