I liked the flavorful sauces at this restaurant. They do tend to skimp in the vegetables though, and it is somewhat expensive.

I was in Tours for the day with the intention of taking a train from there to Chenonceaux to see the Chateau- I had about an hour and a half to kill before departure, and it was lunchtime, so I decided to go to this restaurant based on tripadviser reviews, as well as the fact that it was right next to the train station.
All I can say is.. WOW. The food was soo good, and soo much! I couldn't believe what I ordered was for one person, it could have easily been shared between 2 people and you probably still could have had leftovers. I couldn't even finish half of it, as much as I wanted to! It was truly authentic Moroccan cuisine, with such an amazing blend of flavours, and the lamb was literally falling off the bone, it was that tender. Service was great too- I went on a Tuesday at around 1pm, and there weren't that many people there so I was served quickly. They gave me olives as an appetizer, and maybe 10 minutes later my entire meal was presented on the table. I highly recommend this restaurant, and if I'm ever in Tours again I will definitely revisit. Yum yum :)

My mother and I stayed in Tours as part of a trip to the Loire Valley. This restaurant was very near the station and our hotel. We went early on a Saturday evening without an appointment and were the only diners at first but this is a small, intimate place and we did not feel at all uncomfortable. I had a lamb tagine and my mother a cous cous dish. both were delicious. although the meal was filling the host suggested some home made morrocan cakes and we didn't like to refuse although we just shared one selection between us. all washed down with a pichet of wine. this was our favourite meal out in France.

My wife and I stumbled across this Morrocan restaurant after we got back from touring the Chateaus in Loire Valley, France. The Chateaus are absolutley beautiful!
We stayed at the Grand Hotel right by the train stop in Tours, France. We were tired after touring so we wanted to eat near the hotel. We walked around a bit in the area and decided to eat at La Maison Berbere. It is located right off the street and did not look too impressive from the outside. And the inside looked like a Morrocan garage sale.
BUT..., the food was excellent!!. We were so surprised that we had to submit this restaurant to Tripadvisor. It was not listed before our submission. We highly recommend eating there for a unique Morrocan experience. I had the lamb in a tajine and it was probably the 2nd best meal I had on our 10 day trip to France. The only better meal was at Mugaritz in San Sebastian, Spain (a top 10 restaurant in the world). If you are near the Tours train stop, try La Maison Berbere. Just be patient...there was only 1 waiter the day we went. Hopefully your experience with the food will be as good as ours!
