A friend of mine had reserved a tour in the cellars in French but upon arrival we were told that there was no reservation for us at all. We had to wait for 30 minutes to get a tour in English because there were no tours in French available. The receptionist tried to blame us for the mistake they had made but finally admitted it was their fault when shown the confirmation email. We expected to get a compensation for this automatically but got something only after asking for it ourselves. I think it should have come on the organiser's side since we're talking about a maison de champagne.

The tour itself was ok and tasting very good but the English spoken by the guide was often really hard to understand (and remember that we had booked a tour in French which would probably have been a lot better). If tours are given only in English you expect the English to be clearly pronounced.

Tour the champagne houses with a tour company called French bubbles tours. It was the best! Awesome to see the largest seller in the world! Tasting was fun. Wouldn't do it outside of the tour company as it was fun to compare several houses back to back!

If you're close to Epernay or are in Paris and have some time to drive (2hrs) there, you must go! My husband and I did the Grand Vintage Visit (38euro pp) which consisted of a 45 minute tour followed by a tasting of two vintages. First of all, the town of Epernay is super cute so the drive there and walking around town was nice. We ended up parking, for free, on a side street and then realized that the building had its own small parking area.Once you walk up to the main building of Moet & Chandon you know you're somewhere special. The place is beautiful, almost looking like an older upscale hotel. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the house, the champagne, and was able to answer any questions the group had- he was a true expert and then we learned he'd only been there for a month! It's truly amazing to see the caves and all of the bottles stored there. We then tasted the Vintage 2008 and Vintage Rose 2008- both were very good!

It was wonderful to hear the history of this company and walk through the cellars where millions of champagne bottles are kept, some for more than a hundred years. Its a brand and a standard in Champagne and having the luxury of being there is fantastic

We went to Moet as part of a Champagne Region tour. Moet, as you might expect was more about the history of the brand and selling its product than learning about the process. It is in a beautiful building and going down to the cellars is interesting but in the end it was a bit of a marketing gimmick.

I would highly recommend going to the many other champagne makers in the area that charge half the price for similar and sometimes better quality.
