Most of the staff don’t speak English . I think in an hotel the staff should know both languages. Other than that some of the staff aren’t professional.
It’s location is perfect if someone is going to Insead , but all in all it wasn’t much of a pleasant stay.

I’ve spent only one night in this Hotel. I’ve chosen it for the location. Close to the forest of Fontainebleau, 55 km south of Paris, it’s a grat spot for relax and countryside visit in the Paris region. Not far from it there’s also Barbizon, which deserves a visit. The hotel it’s in a residential spot, just 10 minutes walk from the center and the castle. Very quiet. With a private parking, free, it’s very convenient. The hotel lobby is quite interesting and different from any Mercure I’ve stayed at. The reception desk is in the bar counter and the dining, bar, and relax area are all together. It could be noisy at some point but very urban and modern, like the decoration and fittings. I’ve had my dinner at the restaurant, and the food was good, as well as the wine. On that night I’ve been lucky as they had a jazz trio playing live, and they were great too. The room was clean, spacious enough for two persons and very quiet. Good sleep quality. I must say great hotel in a great place.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and really disliked it. I now stayed again and discovered that it has been significantly renovated. It is so much nicer now. Great job! Much nicer than all other options in town.

The Mercure is well located at walking distance from the Chateau. Nice and clean standard hotel, free parking and wifi, value for money. Friendly staff. The dinner menu is limited, obviously not their core business. However breakfast is more than decent.

Stayed at the Mercure whilst in Fontainebleau for business
The service from the front desk was excellent and staff very attentive
The rooms were small but very clean and tidy
I base a hotel on cleanliness and sleep and I would rate the bed well above average even for some 4 and 5 star hotels I have stayed at.

The breakfast was of small selection however food was fresh and coffee was pretty good.
I only had one dinner and it was fair for the price.

The walk into town for Resturant's is an easy and pleasant walk

Overall if in the region again I would stay again.

Please note the road to the hotel is one way so getting there can be a bit tricky the first time.
