We walked in the Saint Germain neigborhood and did discover the alley Cour du Commerce. In this romantic street, we stepped inside the chocolate shop and restaurant “Un Dimanche à Paris”. All the tables were occupied and we were invited to visit the the chocolate shop. The store has a wide selection of chocolates and cakes. Besides this store we saw the room where the chocolate and pastries are made.
After a few minutes, we were invited to sit down at a free table. We ordered a coffee with a couple of mini pastries. After we finished our coffee, we asked the bill witch we paid at the front desk, and left the shop.
A nice experience for a... Saturday.

Who know that salmon topped with Pink Berries coated with White Chocolates would be so inticing! From the pistachio and lemon/ginger macaroons to the caramel/chocolate mushrooms to the dark chocolate squares from several origins, Un Dimanche a Paris is a treasure-find that I stumbled upon. After entering through a somewhat dark archway and into a hidden courtyard that graced the Un Dimanche a Paris' Chocolate Bar window, I was intrigued to by this shop. The workers gave exemplary service and shared great laughs with this solo traveler.

The menu incorporates chocolate into each course. It isn't a gimmick, but cleverly done and delicious. We tried the set menu which is great value, really a bargain for the quality of food. Really fun and exciting experience.

The service was great. The wine was wonderful.

The chocolate shop adjoining is also definitely worth a visit.

Next time I'm in Paris I'd like to try one if their cookery classes.

Thank Natalie G

We have been to this restaurant twice and we were very happy each time. The restaurant is next to a chocolate shop and features a chocolate factory where you can see them make the pastry through a glass window. The food at the restaurant is reasonably priced for the neighborhood (31 Euros for a 3-course meal of the day, double a la carte) and higher quality than most of the surrounding places. In addition, it seems like the dishes are all home made, contrary to many restaurants who buy pre-fab meals from industrial kitchens. Here, the original touch is that all the dishes have some kind of chocolate ingredient, even the aperitif. If you like chocolate, it is definitely a place to try. As an additional attraction, the restaurant tables are placed around a 12th century tower, which used to be part of a wall around Paris.

My wife and I had the taster menu with matching wines. The food and wine choices were excellent. The chocolate theme was subtly present in the savoury dishes and then burst out to the full in the desert. My wife claimed that it was the best desert she'd ever had in a restaurant! The service was good and very friendly. Strongly recommended.
