Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera
Ranked #1,607 of 1,809 Hotels in Paris
Reviewed 14 March 2016

A hotel with imposing names, but poorly maintained, dirty and unfriendly .
Small rooms, bathrooms and small, crooked, dark hallways , which have not been seasoned for decades.
And the staff is looking to make you feel like they do a favor that allows you to accommodate there.
With reference to hotel name, it must mention that Nouvel Opera Bastille is at more than 3 km. .

Room Tip: Not to accept than the rooms overlooking the street!

The room was small and drab with poor facilities. The hotel itself seemed a bit shabby and the breakfast was very uninspiring. It was rather expensive for what you get, but I suppose that's just Paris prices. The staff were welcoming and helpful, however.

After a long journey, arriving from CDG airport, it was quite a trek by Metro and on foot to reach this hotel, which is not really in a prime location as far as the sights of Paris is concerned. However, the receptionist (a multi-lingual and charming man) made us welcome and the room was surprisingly pleasant. It was small and basic, but clean, quiet and the narrow single beds very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were good and although at the front of the building there was little noise from the street. There are cafes and shops nearby and as a short-term stay it was fine. I would choose another hotel if staying longer in Paris as the area is fairly characterless and as I said the main tourist attractions are not close by.

Room Tip: Dont expect great views or luxury and you won't be disappointed.

We stayed with my sister only one night and our room was on the first floor which was painted and smelled terribly! It was very noisy at night. Beds are very uncomfortable and very soft. However, it is located next to great bars so if you are not looking for quality but a central location only this is for you.

I would put this in my top five worst Hotels.
Front desk totally unhelpful.
Rooms small, hot and bathroom ridiculously small and grubby.
Breakfast is a farce no cups, no spoons when you ask for a cup you are told to search the tables to find one !!
This was part of a Eurostar Deal so beware.
