I don't understand all of the terrible ratings. We stayed for 4 nights total. It's not the absolute best, but for the price, this hotel is simple but very above average.

Room: Our double bed room on the fifth floor was clean, quiet and comfortable. Most of the walls looked like it had been recently painted and the bathroom looked newly renovated. There was a TV in the room and the bed was very comfortable. However, the shower curtain didn't do its job too well and some water leaked out onto the floor (can mostly be avoided if careful). There was extremely little room in front of the toilet, so we had to sit diagonally to do our business. Also, eating in the room was prohibited.

Location: Good! About a 10 minute walk to major streets and metro stations, and a 30 minute walk to Arc de Triomphe/Eiffel Tower. Also a short walk to streets with many restaurants, cheap eateries and grocery stores.

Staff: Great! The owner (a middle aged man) was very pleasant, as was his wife (I think?). She didn't speak much English, but always gave us a friendly smile when passing by her.

Cons: WiFi & breakfast are an additional cost. If you're planning on getting even a day of wifi, don't stay on the fifth floor because there is no wifi at all up there. Breakfast was 6 euros per person so we opted out of it (after reading that it wasn't worth it). Though we had to make it very clear to the owner that we did not want it at all during any morning of our stay (he seemed sort of shocked), he still tried to bargain with us by offering it for 4 euros instead (which we thought was quite funny). He seemed slightly disappointed after still declining his offer but was fine after that.

The elevator was very small and sketchy, but could still easily fit two average sized people without luggage. However, it did function weirdly. Every time we used it to go up to our floor (fifth), it would shut down right before it arrived and the lights would shut off. We were told about this, and there is an easy fix: just press your floor button twice when you enter instead of just once like a normal elevator.

Overall, the pros outweighed the cons for us. A very decent hotel for the price!

Room Tip: Gonna pay for the wifi? Don't get a room on the fifth floor.

The plus side is that is ideally located for central Paris with two Metro stops a short walk away.

However it is basic with a lift which barely carries one person. When queried that we had asked for rooms with a bath the receptionist was dismissive and just said that the hotel was full. Everything seemed to have additional charges i.e. breakfast, wi-fi.

The room was clean with a view of another apartment.

Thankfully we were only there for a few days and out for virtually all the day but I would never revisit the hotel.

Some hotels are cheap for a reason, this one is exactly that. The receptionist was ok but we saw him on arrival but never again during our weekend stay. The room was appalling. Lots of repairs needed, a toilet on which you have to sit sideways as it is literally 8 cms to the wall in front. The one bench/table in room was in bits and grotty. The walls were a mish-mash of bits of left over wallpaper and even that desperately needed redoing. There was a radiator on full which was so hot we couldn't touch it and there was no control to turn it down at all so we had no choice but to keep the window wide open which made it noisy.
There is no car parking whatsoever. The nearest one is a ten minute walk away and costs 48 euros for 36 hours.
Breakfast in the hotel is laughable. I didn't expect anything cooked but we got a single roll with butter and jam and a cup of tea.... With no milk despite asking for some.
Hotel is about 12 minutes walk from the Metro and then you can get anywhere around the city. Plenty of eateries within a 15 minute radius.
We seriously wouldn't even consider staying in this rubbish bin again. I have never left a bad review before as I always look for positives but there really aren't many to be found here. Even the lift is laughable. It's for one person at a time and that person had better not be claustrophobic!

This hotel would not allow me to check in despite a confirmed reservation from Hotwire. I paid money for two nights stay and got nothing. The staff was rude, disorganized, and wanted me to pay for a room that had already been charged to my credit card. I would avoid this hotel like the plague.
