We booked a standard room but got upgraded. Nice size for Paris, very central (close to some excellent shops and the Metro). Bed was wonderfully comfy. Lady at breakfast was a bit scary at first and seemed a little under pressure, but I think that's just her way, I think it was a communication problem rather than attitude. I'd recommend this hotel wholeheartedly, good value. Not connected to the hotel, we needed to change at Strasburg St Denis to get to Gare Du Nord, but due to engineering works had to walk. What a district that is, very rough, made me appreciate what a good area Madeleine was, if we are in Paris again we would definitely use Chavanel again. One downer, breakfast room is in the basement, would have been ideal if it had natural light.

Room Tip: Road busy & noisy. Get a high floor room if possible

Couldn't praise this hotel enough, the staff were extremely helpful, hotel is in a great location to get to all the main attractions in Paris, 2 mins away from the likes of Galleries Lafayette, Champs élysées , and Laduree for a wee treat. Hotel room was extremely comfortable and had AC which was a god send in the peak summer weather. Really recommend this Hotel and would stay there again next time we are in Paris.

We recently stayed in one of the suites on floor 6 of the hotel as part of our honeymoon travelling. The hotel its self was immaculate and the staff were super friendly and spoke near on perfect English, which for two non french speakers was incredibly helpful. Its location is perfect, just a short walk away from the hop on hop off bus stops, beautiful shops just round the corner and within feet of a metro station. My only problem was being on the 6th floor and having the best room in the hotel in many ways was perfect, but i wouldn't recommend it, if like myself you have a fear off small lifts but I suppose the stair climbing helped burn off some of the calories that I certainly consumed during our holiday. I would most definitely recommend this as somewhere to stay if your looking for a quite comfortable yet beautiful chic hotel set in the romantic city of paris.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 6th floor, although expensive worth the cost

I cannot think of a better neighborhood to experience Parisian life than Madeleine. The Chavanel is in the midst of action, however is surprisingly quiet and relaxing. The rooms are bright and airy with a touch of french chic.
Welcomed with macaroons and champagne, I cannot think of any place I would rather stay! J'adore Chavanel!

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are fantastic for french street views
