Description: La Grande Cascade is a gourmet restaurant located in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. For a romantic dinner in winter or an alfresco lunch on a sunny day in summer, La Grande Cascade is the perfect rendezvous for anyone who loves fine dining and beautiful scenery in Paris. Yet La Grande Cascade has not always been a restaurant, and this explains its unusual and truly exceptional decor. It was originally a lodge where Napoleon III, who came to the Bois de Boulogne to hunt, could take a rest. Over the years, La Grande Cascade has changed with the times while maintaining its unique "retro-modern" style. Inside, the gilding, chandeliers and mirrors offer a distinct charm to a residence that has retained its period magnificence.

We have been before and it remains Classic French opulent service and selections. From the initial champagne offering, Mac and Cheese with truffles and foi grass, to their incomparable sweetbreads. Large and informed wine offerings and a pace that will allow ample time to trial every course and experience. A bit away from the downtown bustle but Uber makes it simple and a taxi to return. Go for a special occasion and expect to spend some euros.

This place could be a be a set for a Belle Epoque scene in a Woody Allen movie. It's a 15 minute taxi ride from St Germain de Pres but a world away from the hustle of The Left Bank. Lavishly decorated and situated next to a waterfall in the parkland of Bois de Bolougne, La Grande Cascade was once a cottage built for Napolean.
It is worth a visit just to experience the grandeur of the architecture. Apart from the delicious set menu of the day with matching wines, the staff were a delight! Taking time to explain in English every dish and happily snapping photos of our celebratory lunch and along with some cheeky selfies, we later discovered on our phone.
They made it an extra special day.

The food at this restaurant was breathtaking! I had the beef and my wife had the lobster. Both cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared the Mille fieulle. Mouthwatering! Exceptional service. Without question within our top five most memorable meals of all time. Not even the rudeness of the matre de could effect the enjoyment of culinary gold.

La Grande Cascade is one of our favourite restaurants in the world. The five course tasting menu (highly recommended) includes some of the finest food I have ever eaten, served to me by the most skilled and caring team of service staff in the world, looking after you from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The restaurant itself is in a old-fashioned tall greenhouse, which adds to the experience (however, does not help the temperature too much).

Perfect for a special occasion or to round off you trip to Paris, La Grande Cascade will not disappoint.

Nicely secluded from the traffic and terrific food. Dessert was great and veal is beyond anything I've had
