We found ourselves in this area of Paris for two reasons; We were doing a bit of a literary walk of the city and Ernest Hemingway lived with his first wife Hadley just across the street at No 74 rue du Cardinal Lemoine, while James Joyce lived at No 71 when he wrote Ulysses. The other reason was that we had planned to come to a different restaurant but couldn't get a table, so amongst many establishments in this area we chose El Burro Blanco as looking the most promising. Great choice as we were taken care of by a charming head waitress in a place with lots of Spanish ambience, not least helped by two excellent Spanish guitar playing singers. The food was good and we'd definitely recommend this restaurant.
