Lamartco is deep in the farming country to the north and east of Albi. Sylvie and Pierre have put great care and love into the renewal of a delightful rustic home in this most restful of landscapes. The house stands alone beside the old church of St Marcel, in its cottage garden and stand of trees, on a plateau indented by deep valleys.
The welcome is genuine and warm; accommodation is simple and comfortable. Breakfast is simple but good, and dinner is a wonderful end to each day - an ample and delicious meal cooked by Sylvie, with Gaillac wine replenished throughout, taken at a communal table making for convivial evenings (and mornings!) in the house.
The garden is a complete delight and the atmosphere is so restful that you may never want to leave. The pool is of course very welcome in warm weather!
Sylvie and Pierre are full of useful information about the many attractive places withint ravelling distance, and cannot do enough to help.
This is one of the most idyllic and peaceful places we have experienced, and Pierre and Sylvie's kindness and hospitality (and their care for this corner of theirs) is exemplary. Our thanks go to them.
