Arriving after a long journey, I seemed to be more concerned about getting in to my room and freshening up. However I stepped through the gates of this charming house and my eyes were immediately drawn to the spectacular views across the valley. Photos don't do justice to the breath taking vista. What a spot!
Inside I was just as impressed. My room was large and had a big comfortable bed and characterful antique furniture. Two full length windows made the best of the view and produced a gentle breeze that was a welcome relief from the hot still air of the narrow medieval streets in the centre of the village a short walk away.
My hosts were Paul and Daniel. Certainly, they made the experience of the visit more special. Their welcome was warm and genuine and they struck the perfect balance; ensuring that I had everything I needed but allowing me space and time to relax. It felt as though I was given free run of the house. The option of lazing by the large and sunny pool, complemented the chance to relax in the calm and peaceful sitting room. I never felt that I was expected only to occupy my room.
The magical dream was only interrupted by the need to return to the UK and work! Can't wait to return and "recharge my batteries" in this perfect spot.More
