We were running late from our previous location and called to see if we could check in late. They were very accommodating and helpful with directions. They opened the gates so we could park off the street even though we were there late. We were warmly greeted and given an excellent run-down of information about local restaurants, sights, maps and current events to see.
We had a lovely room that was brightly decorated with a shower and private bath. If you are tall you may ask for a different room as there were some slanted ceilings. It was very quiet and the bed was good sized and comfortable. There was a small kitchen with fridge, stove, coffee maker and kitchen utensils and tools. There was also a large rack with many brochures of local sites and events. The best part was a very organized review of menus of some local restaurants that gave you their hours, menus and prices with maps to show the walking distance and time. It was very helpful!
Pierre had greeted us in the morning and also served us a lovely breakfast in the morning which was included. Hot chocolate, coffee and tea, eggs, yogurt, rolls, croissants, warm crepes with many toppings available. It was in a very nice dining room with many antique touches and a warm and friendly atmosphere. There was a large television for those who wished to catch up on the news in the world (no tv in the room which was awesome!).
We stayed for two nights and had easy locked access to the gate that did not disturb others inside but gave a very safe and comfortable atmosphere in the courtyard. There was a garden in the back and a terraced eating area which we did not visit. The center of town is a short walk away with many restaurants, the Tapestry, the Notre Dame Cathedral amongst many other attractions. We had planned to go to the Normandy beaches and it was a comfortable ride away. About an hour away from Mont-Saint-Michel and a half-hour to Caen.
This was a very impromptu, last minute decision on our part to stay here and we were so happy we chose Aggarthi. It had a very nice B&B feel with a very friendly multi-lingual host. It felt like you were visiting friends. Free internet that worked better than other places we have visited.
