We stayed here a few days. The place is super, super clean! Impressive since the hotel seems to be run by 1 person. The rooms are small, but extremely functional and with a modern straight design which we like. The room (or street) is quiet, a light sleeper like me can sleep well here. There are limited free parking spaces in front of the hotel. French parking with included frustration (you know what I mean). If places are full, there is a parking place nearby. It is about 10 euro per night. We did not use the breakfast service. The shower is small but very nice! Beds are beyond nice, we slept really well.

In short, highly recommended if you do not need a large room.

Thank you Mr Kornel. For a more confortable stay we propose superior double room also. Zoé work hard also in the backoffice : that's why rooms are so clean. You're right : our economic standard double rooms are quiet and small but confortable (matelas Bultex high quality) with a shower completely renoved and free broadband wifi. We propose a local and continental buffet breakfast with home-made cake and home-made yogurt ...

The only reason I am giving this five stars is because I cannot give it any more!

Situated right in the heart of the city, but on a very quiet side street, this hotel provided everything we needed for our three night stay.

Our room was on the third floor and without a lift this may have posed a problem, however, Mathieu quickly grabbed our suitcase from my hand and sprinted up the stairs to show us our room.

This was a family room with an extremely comfortable king-size bed and an very large sofa bed that my son said was the comfiest that he had slept on. It had obviously only just been renovated and was spotlessly clean.

Mathieu and Zoe couldn't have been any more friendly or accommodating and should we return to this area in future we will have no hesitation in booking another stay at this gem of a hotel.

This hotel gets very good reviews, and I book 4 rooms for 8 adults. When we arrive, someone has to point out the entrance, which is a large wood-framed glass door leading to stairs and the second-floor reception. The initial impression is clean and neat IKEA. That continues into the rooms. There is nothing frilly or fancy here, just modern and simple. The beds are really comfortable, and the bathrooms light and very functional. You don't get the extras you see at other hotels, but this is indicative of the nature and associated pricing for the hotel. The breakfast buffet is standard french bread and such.

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the train station, and is in a good location for shopping, site-seeing and dining. All in all, we are pleased with our stay at La Fontainue.

Room Tip: The rooms we have are all sound protected. Well done.

Our family stayed for four nights earlier this month, my husband and I in one room, our two teenaged daughters next door, and had a very positive experience. The rooms are maybe a bit cramped by American standards but probably good sized by European standards. Most importantly, everything was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and had a nice selection at a reasonable price. The host was hugely helpful with tour info, bus tickets, and local information. We particularly enjoyed between able to help ourselves to a hot drink in the afternoon after our sightseeing. The only concern we had was quite a bit of noise from the street and bar below on Fri and Sat nights. Our host had warned us to keep our windows closed, but we were in the middle of a heat wave and there was no air conditioning so we had to have them open. On the weeknights, the area was quite quiet. The location is perfect, a five minute walk to the castle, a large variety of shops and restaurants, and bus stops. It's a 10 or 15 minute walk to the Abbaye des Hommes. We liked being on the pedestrian area and the weekend open air market. I highly recommend and I'd stay here again. My only suggestion is that they add a towel hook on the bathroom door as there is nowhere to hang a wet towel.

We propose a local buffet breakfast (home made cake, home made yogurt, pastries with local butter, apple juice from farm, Lavazza coffee machine ...). We will add towel hook in bathroom quickly. The hotel is situated in a quiet street. Restaurant below close actually at 10pm (and will close at 8pm as soon as possible). Thanks again. Zoé and Mathieu

We stopped at this hotel for one night only.
It was a bit difficult to find as the town centre seemed to be one way roads and we were obviously missing the right turns to get near.
I had to abandon the car and my wife and go on foot to look for it.
Once found the man on the desk, not sure if he was owner was very polite, very informative.
The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom excellent.
The breakfast was good.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone stopping near this area.
