Janine couldn't have been more welcoming and her pleasure in having guests is so evident from her beautifully decorated rooms(we had the "romantic" room 1 flight up) to her very good breakfast, including freshly baked sweet bread, fresh raspberries, ham, cheeses, croissants, juices, and more. While Janine's English and our French is limited, we communicated pretty will with the use of "google translate" and Janine not only recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner but even made the reservation for us. Her home is only a brief walk to the center of Honfleur and we made the walk twice that day, afternoon and evening enjoying the old port area which is ringed with cafes with outside seating and walking through the charming old town streets. If we return, we will be sure to stay with Janine again and it will be for at least 2 nights.

Room Tip: the "romantic" room was nicely decorated, somewhat small, but immaculate as was the very large bathroom.

We had a great stay here. We were in the "Romantic" room which was enormous and had a huge bathroom too and was immaculately clean. Our bathroom had a shower attachment with the bath but nowhere to hang it so you had to use it by hand. I'd normally be annoyed by this but as everything else about the place was so good, it really didn't bother me. It's not the kind of place you need to be in a rush to go anywhere, so taking a bit longer over a shower or treating yourself to a bath is all good.

Breakfast was extensive with delicious local apple juice and freshly made breads and cakes. Pastries were of course very fresh. Hot options were available every day. It was really warm one day so we took our breakfast out into the lovely garden.

Janine gave us good advice about which local restaurants were worth a visit. We dined out at 3 different restaurants in the evenings and all her recommendations were great.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the harbour and the road is really quiet so it's ideal for access to the bustle of town without the noise at night. Parking is free and plentiful 50-100m up the road.

Would I go back there? Yes, without a doubt.

At Madame Janine home. That was my feeling. Staying in the house of a friend in a small charming countryside French village.

Eating breakfast made by herself, having cider in the courtyard, while chatting.

Don't expect luxury, or a great hotel, but be sure to have the warm of a home.

You can park in front of the hotel. You can walk from the hotel to most of the restaurants.

Great and pleasant experience.

A perfect place to stay in Honfleur. A quick walk from the port, but away from the crowds.Quiet at night. Nice breakfast and even hot eggs upon request. Janine was great, very helpful and welcoming. Responsive to my emails before we came as well. She also had a parking spot for us...this is key, since i wouldnt want to try and find parking down by the port! We would definitely return!

Stayed 4 nights, we had the Suite ( African themed). This is on the top floor and is very big. Large bed , seating area , settee and large bathroom ( shower only, but twin sinks) would easily sleep 6 and had good all round views. The bridge, the garden, the street and being on 3rd floor v quiet.
Not cheap at 175 e but worth it for the space.
Nice big garden , lovely to relax in. Breakfast a communal affair - inside if wet , outside if sunny, with 4/6 strangers but good fun.
Food typical continental, meat , cheese, cake, bread etc but very nice and fresh.
Janine the owner v friendly and happy to book restaurants for guests - try L'Endroit - 5 mins away and superb - need to book.

Only downside is on street parking ( Jane Laur has one parking slot off street rest is on narrow streets)

Janine also has some apartments

Payment is cash only which meant a bank transfer for one night and cash the next 3 - we got a phone call off her re the transfer, fortunately my wife is fluent French but it may be tricky if you are not - she e mailed her bank info and doing a transfer was fairly straightforward.

Its worth it as this is a nice relaxing homely place to stay a10 min walk from the centre of Honfleur which is a lovely town ( downhill into town, up hill puff on way back)
