After facing Monday night closings of our hotel restaurant (chateau de La Pioline), and no room at Mitch and Opera we were directed to La Chimere Cafe. How lucky! This former Cabernet with red and black accents served up the fine cuisine we had been awaiting from Aix. For starters, try the Razor Clams or Foie Gras frites. The Scallops with root veggies was dreamy. Merengue raspberry dessert yummy. Service was the best we've had in France. This place has been here twenty years and may get lost in coverage. It will be top of my list upon a return.
