during our visit in August, the temperatures ranged between 32 and 40 Celsius, it was hot even in the shade. We could only stand five minutes on the bridge - it was absolutely scorching hot and frankly the view is much better from the park next to the cathedral.

Sure there's a French song based on this bridge, but that's all it is - a half destroyed bridge.
For €5, you get this mini phone-like MP3 player where you walk over the bridge and you input a number based on your location to know more about the bridge. You walk along the river, then look at the guardhouse and one of the lower levels.
But that's it. Way too much unnecessary and quite frankly uninteresting information about a half-destroyed bridge that doesn't even look unique from others.
Save your money and time and stick with Palais des Papes, the garden nearby, or some other museum or walk along the walls.

Don't spend any money on this. The bridge is nice to look at from a distance, but has hardly anything to add while on it. In contradiction to the audio guide from Palais des Papes, this audio guide make you fall asleep .
Pay attention ; you can get a combo-ticket with Pales des Papes. But even if you bought a combo-ticket , you still have to queue at the cashier between the other guests for the audio guide
