Location is perfect with great views. Train station only 5 mins walk. Direct trains into Nice, Monaco, Antibes - really easy to move around.
Receptionist helpful.
Bijou kitchen is ample for home cooking

As this is not full service hotel you need to prepare for your visit.

Reception is not always manned so arrive at the required time although they can arrange out of hours key collection

Spacious clean room with catering facilities. Basic kitchen. Comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom.

A starter pack of toilet paper, shampoo is provided but would require topping up if staying a few days. Also allow time to clean the room on departure.

Only real downside is the lack of cooling air con - maybe they turn it in when the weather is warmer but I had to open the window which made the room noisier. Must be me but I like a cool bedroom.

I would probably opt for a full service hotel next time but here would be good for a family who wanted to self cater.

First of all: there are two Carltons, the Residence and the hotel. Don´t mix them up. We were very satisfied with this residence for several reasons. The room was spacious as well as bathroom and other areas for visitors. You were never hunted by cleaning, since that is up to you.Crockery and cutlery was sufficient for cooking even dinner. Very close to supermarket "U", 5 min, and swim, 5 min. But do watch out for shallow rocks in the water. Bus 100 eastbound for Menton, westbound for Nice Port, bus 81 to Nice Centre, only 1,5€. Staff very helpful and good English-speaking. Recommended.

It is like renting a flat - you are in charge of returning it clean, as well as you need to provide for your own food - including breakfast. There is free parking and good options of supermarkets in the neighborhood. Beaulieu sur Mer is beautiful and charming, as well as the neighbouring cities.
Cooking in the apartment gave us the opportunity of saving considerably, and feeling at home.

Room Tip: The garden offers a beautiful view

We visited Beaulieu-Sur-Mer for 4 days for a family wedding. We chose to stay here because of the self catering amenities, which suited our needs with a toddler. The kitchen facilities are basic but good for if you need just that bit more than a hotel can provide; a fridge, two hobs, mini dishwasher, sink, microwave, cupboards. The bathroom was very spacious, with the toilet in a separate smaller room. The main sleeping/living area was also very roomy. There was a large double bed, a cot bed (free of charge), dining table and chairs, TV and air conditioning. We also had a balcony, with table and chairs. Clara, the receptionist, was amazing. She was incredibly friendly, very informative and made lots of suggestions on where to go. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she was on hand every morning to help with anything you would need and she really is a credit to the Residence Carlton.
The area was pretty quiet, with a number of lovely restaurants within a short walking distance. The beach was a 5/10 minute walk, the supermarket a 5 minute walk. Villefranche was a 20 minute walk away, and was a lot livelier, with a larger selection of restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend staying here, and had a fantastic holiday.
