Off to the Monaco Historic GP again, and as usual opted to stay in Menton and use the train to/from Monaco. Looked for a cheap hotel, close to the station (aged father who can't walk far) for a reasonable price. Hotel Lemon fitted the bill perfectly, so booked up.
Arrived on the train, and it took some logic to find the hotel. It's on a road parallel to the railway line, but not obvious how to get to the road. TIP: come out of station, turn hard right and down the steep stairs, head west and it's on the left hand side.
Room was basic, but bed was comfortable and shower hot. No noise from the railway line, the road outside was louder, so concerns of rail disturbance disappeared.
Breakfast is only served from 08:00, cost €9, but we wanted earlier and there wasn't too much flex so missed out. Did try it one day (could leave mention due to French Rail Strike) and it was usual continental breakfast and coffee excellent.
Overall a very nice hotel to base ourselves from, plenty of local restaurants to eat, all within short walking from Hotel. I would stay there again on my next trip based in Menton
