A very expensive hotel with a really poor service. Poor breakfast, inattentive personnel. Some of the rooms a very old, but the price doesn't reflect that. There are no tiny pleasant things that make staying in a hotel memorable. No small chocolates, very small bottles of water every day. Less than a glass. Never will come back

Dear Thebestnata,

Thank you very much for submitting your review on Tripadvisor as it help us to enhance our future guests' experiences.

We regret that we have not reached your expectations while staying at the Negresco Hotel.

We are really concerned about your negative experience described in this review. It seems that nearly everything went wrong, which is very surprising as it is in contradiction with hundreds of satisfied guests and their reviews here on Tripadvisor and elsewhere. Our staff is well trained and our services are usually highly appreciated by our guests.

However, we do take your comments very seriously and would like to investigate further into the issues you have raised. Therefore, we would be grateful if you could provide us with some more details on direction@lenegresco.com.

We look forward to receiving your response.

Yours sincerely,

Pierre BORD
General Manager

We love this place. It's the third time we've started our trip here, and it is always as perfect as we remember. The hotel is beautiful, art collection is world class - we always roam every floor to give ourselves a tour. We love the location across from the fabulous Neptune Beach, and a 10 minute walk to the marche.

Excellent location and very funky. A little pricey but well worth it, great little bar for relaxing after a day at the beach. You will be treated like a movie star, the staff was wonderful and very informative. You can walk into old town and enjoy life in a whole new way, the markets on the weekends are a must see. There are so many quaint shops and bistros near by as well as top notch eateries. Do not forget Lafyettes dept store. The rooms in the hotel are unexplainable but lovely.

Room Tip: an ocean view room is most lovely

Alexandru Negrescu was a Romanian restorer born to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, on March 14, 1870. He became ,,Henri Alexandre Negresco'' in France. He began work as a butler in Monte Carlo. Over time he is hired as director of the restaurant by the Cazino's concessionaire and he meets with Dutch architect Edouard Jean Niermans and then was born the idea to build the most luxurious hotel in the world. The hotel has unique facilities at the time and rafinement is present even today. The interior is full of surprises ranging from the world's largest Aubusson carpet and gold glittery bathroom suites. The lavatories are more lavishly ornamented than many others hotel lounges. It remains a famous Riviera landmark and the best place to stay in Nice. The hotel is a success story of a Romanian citizen in Nice.
