I visited this place with my wife. We'd walked past it a number of times and talked about going there, since it looked like a nice place and it smelled good from the outside, and finally did that last Saturday night. We liked the atmosphere and decoration. The service was quick and adequate. But more importantly the food was exactly what we were looking for that night: well-prepared seafood.

We took the ceviche 'dégustation' as a starter, of which the daurade was definitely the best part. As the main dish I had a grilled sea bass, which was well cooked and served whole, without too much garnishing. It tasted delicious. Recommended for good, honest food.

Totally enjoyed dining at Gousto on the quiet side of town. Relaxing music and interior, Gousto offered a delicious starter of delicately seasoned and breaded fish, mussels on the shell and salad as well as beef with vegetables and ginger rice followed by a fine creme brulee. Worth the walk to this quiet gem near Le Port.

Great offer when booked through the link on this site. The cerviches sharing starter was a nice mixture of seafood and the various other elements left us feeling pleasantly full. Good service and would come again.

Too often medoicre or average restaurants receive enthusiastic reviews by clients that in most cases wrote one or two reviews in their life. This seeems to be the case of Gousto, a French-Peruvian restaurant located just behing the harbour of Nice.
The location is not the top notch, and the cuisine neither.
Let's start with the ceviche, that should be the house specialty. We chose a mixed chevce for two: really nothng special and above all nothing to do with the real ceviche you can enjoy in Lima and in the whole Latin America. Prawns and mussells were just average, whereas the fish was ove-marinaded, to become fluffy and tasteless. Better to avoid.
As a main course we ordered a sea bass grilled in a banana loaf and a mix of calamari and octopus cooked in an exotic Peruvian spice mixture.
Well, the sea bass was overcooked (though fresh), but no trace of the banana loaf: just a simple grilled overcooked fish (as you can find in any restaurant of the coast). The side dish, a rice with sea foos, was decent but not terrible. As far as the octopus and calamari, it was maybe the best dish among the three.
As a wine, I asked a glass of white Burgundy Chardonnay that was served not chilled, and afterwards another glass of any other white wine but chilled that was mediocre. Both were added at the bill, that is really not fair.
At the end, Gousto is the classic tourist trap for people who don't know what cheviche is and are satisfied of the farfetched exotic experience.
Awful service and poor ambience. Not recommended.

Very pleasant service could not disguise the mediocrity of the food. The location is not exactly charming either.
