Going to Nice as a tourist will not give you that relaxing mood when you stay in this hotel. The front door is not easy to open, more difficult if you have a luggage. No elevator, you have to drag you luggage on a staircase that obviously past on his glorious times a long time ago. There is a strange smell on the place and not a pleasant one, too! The room is too small, the toilet does not even have a door! Though I have to admit the room is clean and the guy from the reception is really friendly. Anyway with the room rate I kinda expect that it will really be basic but yeah, I am on a vacation so I deserve better. Really hard to find parking in the area. Good thing is that the hotel is not too far from the Old Town and close to Nice Port. Thus next time better to pay more to avoid disappointments.

To be avoided...

The bathroom is inside the room and withoud door as you can see from the picture

A strong cigarette smell in the entrance

The hotel looked clean and I'm just happy to find a Bikram class. Accessible to take the team but a bit hard to find because it's not very well located but worth going to if you are not very particular person. The hotel let me use the toilette and the cleaning lady is very pleasant

Stayed at the Hotel Monet as a couple during Euro 2016 for one night as we were going to a game in Nice and a boat trip to St Tropez which is why we stayed near the port. The location for us was perfect, though it isn't local to the main train line a short hop on the tram and a 10 minute walk and you're there. The hotel is very basic but clean and comfortable. We booked an ensuite room though I would use the term very loosely, there was a toilet and sink against one of the walls with only a curtain as a means of privacy, we've been married for 15 years and I felt uncomfortable with the 'ensuite' and therefore ended up using the communial toilet as had a bit of privacy and a door!! The location is perfect for boat cruises and the local bus stop serves Monaco, Montecarlo and Menton to name a few, it is also a pick up point for the Hop on Hop off bus. There are several nice restaurants near by along the port that were reasonably priced. Whilst I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in the hotel for our purpose, which really was just somewhere to sleep it was fine.

Room tip: Its not worth the extra for an 'ensuite', our room was at the back away from the main street and wasn't noisy.

This is not a hotel it is a grotty hostel with bad service and very unclean. The staff are very rude and unpleasant. I arrived at the hotel after an 8 hour drive and was demanded 48 euros for parking which i never asked for. I asked them to provide information about the 48 euro parking which they couldnt but insisted I must pay. Very rude people who work there. I would not recomened this hotel to anyone!
