You would think you'd find authentic British specialties at this Pub, like Toad-in-the-Hole, Yorkshire Pudding, or a Ploughman’s lunch. That's not exactly the case since you actually can come here if you're craving Italian pizzas, Tartare Nicois, Grignotages de Provence , Spanish tapas, German flammeküeche, plus croques and burgers.

After absorbing this oddity, we actually had a good time and definitely didn't go away hungry. To the contrary, we enjoyed their cuisine and I had a great escalope Milanese while Babette loved her Pave de Saumon, grilled and then topped with mozzarella cheese. She also praised the mashed potatoes with olives and garlic.

Their desserts where good, like their strawberries melba with vanilla Ice cream, Belgian coffee, and banana melba with chocolate fondue and whipped cream.

Queen Victoria, Your Majesty and Votre Majeste!

It was lunchtime on Saturday, and we had just picked up our rental car, having arrived the evening prior on the TGV from Paris. I had carefully researched three restaurants in Marseille outside the main city centre whose websites indicated they were open for lunch on Saturday. With GPS functioning, we drove by all three, and all were locked up tight! When I started to return to the city centre via the coastal road, there was a beautiful resto with a view. We found a parking space, and my disabled spouse and I walked to the door -- only to be told that we were 5 minutes too late. The kitchen staff had left promptly at 2:00. No help with a recommendation, so the only thing to do was head down to the old port. Providence intervened with a parking place on the street, but the first few restaurants we encountered were also not serving after 2:00. We passed McDonald's with no intention of "eating" there. We were saved by the friendly staff of the Queen Victoria, which looks inside like any other fine English pub. But the food was definitely French. We enjoyed a well-seasoned plate of tuna carpaccio, a fine green salad, and frites that had been properly cooked in fresh oil (some of the best we have ever had). Affordable Provence rose provided the perfect lunch before we retreated from a city that is too busy for our tastes. We chose to eat inside to take advantage of the air-conditioning on a very hot day; we were very comfortable, and the washrooms were clean and well-maintained.

Popped into the Queen Victoria for a quick drink one afternoon and really liked the place. I had a couple of beers while my girlfriend had a couple of cocktails - the strawberry daiquiri was especially good! We sat outside in the sun and the atmosphere was lovely. Great pub!

Only had drinks here....
The happy hour prices are excellent but all other prices are quite expensive especially cocktails.
The food did look good but very much " pub grub " and the price did match.
Quite a friendly environment but I do wish the staff would smile and interact a little more.
I think it's a place to just pop into for one!

We frequented this pub on a daily basis as the beer which my husband enjoyed (Hoegaarden Blanche) was only 5 Euros. The atmosphere in this buzzing part of the Vieux Port is great and you can sit and watch the world go by in this popular spot. The friendliness of the waiting staff varied considerably and some of them just didn't want to be there but that didn't spoil anything.
