We wandered around Lyon on Sunday to discover most places were closed. A French man suggested we try here and it was a good recommendation. We had couscous with a veg stew and some very tasty meat cooked slow and low. It was really delicious and the staff were very friendly. We were in Lyon for #IREVFRA as you can see by the sweets!

While walking around town we came upon the small but fantastic restaurant. The couscous was the best I have had in France. A must when in Lyon

My wife began with a drink of champagne with creme of fig,,,she loved it. We split the octopus salad which was lightly dressed with oil and vinegar and had very interesting olives, We then ordered the cous cous Royale which was fabulous. Having spent several years in Morocco, I can tell you this is the real deal. It brought back such great memories of dining in Morocco . Aissia spoke excellent english and was our excellent server. The cous cous came in a large bowl, another bowl had the vegetables and broth and the last bowl had the four types of meat, which were fall off the bone lamb, ground meat patty, sausage , and a kebob. Desert was traditional orange slices with cinnamon and mint tea. The neighborhood looks a little ify, but we dined early , ( at 7:30), and we took a cab back home. Best that I have had since leaving Morocco

I've tried to eat here a year ago, but had no luck. This time it worked for me both times while the place was open. Two times it wasn't open at all, I think Monday and Tuesday they are off. At least in January.
I liked what I've eaten. First time I had a vegetarian couscous menu, which is by the way is a great value! You really get a lot for your money. The second time I had fish couscous. It was great too, but if you ask me - you need to be really hungry to eat a menu offer. So, try to take a couscous alone not the menu. Oriental deserts/pastry were great too. You have a whole plate to chose from.
Vegetable Chorba soup was also very nice and you can always make it spicy with the sauce that comes along.
Mint tea is also good accompaniment to your meal.
I haven't tried any tajine.
Enjoy!
