You can't go wrong here when you're looking for a a good restaurant serving local dishes, this "bouchon" is the place to be.
Whe had very friendly waiters looking after us.
Perfect Lyonaise charcuterie and sausages in a red wine sauce.
The traditional pot de rouge (small botlle of local red wine) made everything perfect.
Good value for money.

We booked the Bouchon Colette for our group weekend away, after reading positive reviews. We were 15 British men between the ages of 34 and 75.

Frankly, we were pretty shocked by how poorly we were treated from start to finish. The Bouchon is pretty small as you would expect and the main/primary waiter clearly had a chip on his shoulder as soon as we arrived. We were not given a smile or a friendly hello in fact we weren't even acknowledged. The lady behind the bar directed us to our table from a distance. The waiter deposited three or four menus on our table (expecting us all to share) and again didn't say a word. Around 15 minutes passed while we waited to order drinks and when we did try to attract his attention, he blanked us more than once. Eventually he stopped and when as group organiser, I asked in French for some drinks he rolled his eyes. After a painful wait for a relatively simple 13 beers and two wines, we received some of the beers. I asked for the rest of the beers to which I was given a confused look. A few more beers arrived and after some more prompting, we eventually arrived at 13 - painful! All made worse by the blonde older lady behind the bar (possibly the owner) being distracted every 10 seconds when trying to make the drinks. It didn't escape me that other tables in the restaurant were being treated like royalty - a stark contrast to the aloof and downright rude approach of our waiter. Ordering food and further drinks was met with more blatant disdain. Having ordered our steaks, I asked how they would cooked and the waiter replied that they would come rare and if we didn't like it, we could let him know. We rarely saw our waiter again but he did make stop by our table when we physically blocked his path with on of our chairs!, Needless to say, it was painful and downright frustrating the whole way through. A brief respite when the food arrived promptly and was really tasty. Shock! The waiter did return after the meal to ask without the hint of a smile, if we wanted desserts (kerching!) and deposited a handful of menus at one end of the table. I didn't want to use the nationality card but as French guests came and went having had a warm and attentive experience, I could only come to one conclusion. Why would you treat a high value group like that? Baffling.

Anyway, would avoid if you're a tourist hoping for a friendly welcome, unless they come to their senses and get rid of the man with an attitude problem! I'm struggling to think of customer service worse than this in any restaurant I've visited on our regular trips around Europe.

Good Lyonnaise food. We arrived at 13.50, 10 minutes before the end of service, but they were still willing to serve the quenelle which was a 30 minute wait. I recommend it for a reasonably priced typical local meal.
