This was a hidden away, even to our GPS, hotel that from a foreign perspective offers a local base for Legoland. From a local perspective, this seems to be a very popular spot with a highly recommended restaurant (especially if you like fish).
On arrival, the owner welcomed us and despite our communication shortcomings (her English and our German), she made every effort to make us feel welcome. The room was typical German in that it was immaculately clean albeit a bit more dated than our last hotel.
We availed of the restaurant the first night as we had not had the opportunity to stop for food earlier. It was an amusing experience as we had no idea what the menu was saying and the waiting staff had no English whatsoever. We muddled through and enjoyed the meal even though we were presented with the wrong bill at the end of it. We sorted that and, as part of the experience, noted the German valuation of water as a pricey product to be considered with a good whiskey or truffles. The lack of communication took away somewhat from our evaluation of the experience.
The room was still comfortable and the kids were at ease thoughout. The breakfast was good though not as expansive as our restaurant in Ottobrun.More
