My husband and I stayed 2days during our 18day trip. I picked it because it's a 5 star hotel that is within 400meters of the train station and car rentals. We were in and out Munich by train and easily walked there got our 1day car rental 8am and returned 7pm. It was very convenient.
On the flip side, which is not hotel's fault. The taxis were not willing to take us when we arrived because it's so close. I know a taxi sounds silly for the distance. But for 18days, with opera in Vienna, dinner in Paris, hiking trip... etc. We have 2 bag 21kg each and a small 9kg carry on for electronics, plus a back pack for valuables. I was handling one big piece, my husband was fine with the rest. It was raining and, although I can run Marathon but at 167cm 53kg I'm not exactly muscular. Eventually, we reached hotel in 10min. My wrists were recovered in 24hrs. So keep it in mind. It will be no issue for any normal guys. but if you are a female taking long trip have big luggage. The streets are very busy, so are the curbs. you have to up and down the curbs, drag over trams rail. Get a suit case with big wheels will help a little.
We got a standard room which was a good size. The furnishing was very new and modern. The bathroom was gleaming clean. We asked for a water boiler which came within 10min. The bell service was quick. The concierge was very helpful. We came back late one evening, decide eat in at the Italian restaurant on site. Wasn't too thrilled about Italian food in Germany. it turned out to be an excellent 3 course meal. We also got 3 sizable extra free courses, all delicious. it was as good or better than the restaurants I tried in Southern Italian at the same price range.
The hotel is 1.5km to karlsplatz. Very nice walk thru a park. The Internet is pricey @20 Euro/day. But the off season room rate I paid more than compensate this compare to other 5 star hotels. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Recommended.
