Description: If you find yourself wandering the cobbled streets surrounding Marienplatz - Munich's central square and a main tourist attraction - and maybe, just maybe feeling a little homesick, knock on the door of the Victorian House Restaurant and see what welcome you receive. Modelled on a traditional English home, tourists and Brits alike love the Victorian House Restaurant the comfy upholstered sofas, the imposing portraits in heavy gilded frames, the antiques, the thick floral curtains. The traditional afternoon tea of neat finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, sweet strawberry jam and a pot of Earl Grey. Though perhaps a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale or a G&T goes better with lunch or dinner. While there are plenty of identifiably British meals, there's more than just meat and two veg on the men. Surprises such as Mexican chilli noodle bake regularly appear to stir up any threat of stuffiness. The Victorian House Restaurant's interesting wine list is similarly international. But you're always brought back to Blighty, what with the five-star, service bone China dinner set, silver cutlery and crystal glasses. Thankfully, you can leave the stiff upper lip at home.

Really nice restaurant in Munich. We went there for breakfast.
The staff were friendly and the menu is varied. Food was great and price reasonable and comparable to other places offering similar options.
This Restaurant is a really good choice.

This place offers a vast choice of breakfast options; Eggs, Meats, Potatoes, Bread and Rolls. I really fancied the vintage atmosphere at The Victorian House. The service also greatly contributed to the nice atmosphere. The service staff can speak both English and German. After checking the menu, I ordered the St. James Breakfast. The breakfast consisted of three fried Eggs, Sausage, German style Bacon, there Cherry Tomatoes, and few Mushrooms. On the side was Toast and Beans. I thought my English breakfast was very good. The Victorian House is slightly up-market and I was informed that it’s best to book in advance if your party consists of more than two people.

I went for high tea today with my 6 year old at the Victorian House. The finger sandwiches that came with it were really a sad excuse... they were small, bland and still semi-frozen! I was not even aware that you could freeze egg mayonnaise!!!! It was crunchy!! For €22 for an individual portion high Tea, I do expect at the very least fresh sandwiches!!! I complained afterwards, as I didn't want to ruin the quality time with my son, to be told that I should have said something earlier. The frozen egg sandwich was still frozen on the plate!! Customer service non existent. Food terrible. Avoid!

Very good for a start into a day exploring Munich. Situated in the heart of Munich, The Victorian House offers typically English breakfasts, a very long list of teas, but also meals later in the day. The service is very good, quality of the meals excellent. A little drawbeck: Drinks are not included in the breakfast price and an extra pot of hot water costs 2 Euros.

Breakfast on Sunday morning was impossible just because of the bad mood of the staff. Of course, the tables could be fully booked. But when you see people in your restaurant with kids and not the first time, you may try to find a table. Especially if you have several of them in the back part of the room.
Too rude.
First time felt interracial attitude towards our side, especially in Munich.
