We spent two nights in Nuremberg Holiday Inn hotel. We drove from Brno to Nuremberg and stayed in this hotel for two days. Holiday Inn hotel is very close to the old city centre. There was parking in the hotel car park and we parked the car before even coming to the hotel to check in. Hotel check is was very smooth and we got our room upgraded . We had free WiFi and also our package entitled us to morning breakfast. We arrived at the hotel on a Saturday and there was some kind of celebration going on in the old town. We walked out of the hotel and merged with the crowd. We bought street food from food stalls and spent quite some time in the market square. Hotel service was very good. Our room did not have a good view, but had all the facilities we needed for a comfortable stay. Our second day was different. It was a Sunday and the market square was empty. There were no food stalls. Only a few restaurants were open. Luckily our hotel restaurant was open. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant while watching a world cup soccer match on the restaurant TV screen. Restaurant menu had only a few options, but tge food was tasty. Our bed was comfortable. We had air conditioning in the room. It was important because the day time temperature was fairly high and the room was getting too warm in the night. We had a good holiday in this hotel.

We were in Nuremberg for 4 nights. We are priority club members and were upgrades to apartments 154 and 155. The apts have a separate entrance and always have the elevator doors awaiting our arrival. Coffee and tea are complimentary between 6 am and 9 pm. Breakfast is not included. The hotel was completely renovated in 2017 with very up to date renovations. Weathered grain furniture and cabinetry accents the rooms interior giving it more of a home feel vs a hotel room. A splash of color with the beautiful red wing back chairs also adds to the beautifully renovated rooms. The rooms were very spacious with not only wing back chairs but also with a chaise in one room and with 2 bunk beds in another room. The bathrooms were also very spacious. The only negative is that even though the tub is huge the shower is very restrictive and does not allow for a lot of room to move around. I also believe with the limited space of the shower the drain is not in a convenient spot. I kept stepping on the drain and closing it and having to reopen it throughout my shower. Housekeeping did an IMPECCABLE job! I would definitely stay here again!

It is an average looking hotel. The lobby of the hotel itself tell the quality of the hotel. Rooms are also not good. However the location of the Hotel is Good. It is in the City center. Tram station is also very near.

Inspite of the negative things written by other reviewers about the red light district near the hotel, my wife andI decided to take a chance on this hotel and were not disappointed. We stayed in the city three days and loved the hotel and walking the city—never having to walk through the red light area. The hotel was clean; service by staff was great; and loved the free coffee near the front desk! Our room was very spacious with a kitchen area and small refrigerator, and the location was perfect for us to explore historic churches and museums and enjoy this beautiful city!

Would have given a 4 star review "except for" totally clueless front desk employee upon arrival. Am an IHG Rewards member with 1.5 million points, which is the top 5-10% of all IHG Reward Members. Arrived at the hotel at 11:45A & after telling the young lady that I had a reservation she "immediately" replied ---- without even referring to any reservation information: "Sorry, but the hotel was totally booked last night, so no rooms are available & you will have to wait until 3P to check in". Boom. She was absolutely DONE with ANY interface with the guest. I then asked: "If we go for coffee & return can we see if a room has become available"? Her reply? "I already told you that no rooms are available & you have to wait until 3P to check-in". I then realized I was dealing with an incompetent & totally unconcerned employee, so I asked: "So you are saying that ALL rooms are currently, at 11:45 still remain unmade & there is no chance to that 1 room will become available, & ALL rooms will magically become available at 3P". To this she replied: "I have already told you that NO rooms will be available until 3P, so do you want to leave & come back or leave you luggage & come back"? Absolutely unacceptable customer service treatment.
When we returned at 3P there were new front desk employees who could not have been nicer & more pleasant. The fact that this hotel has an employee on the front desk who interacts with customers in the manner this female employee did at 11:30, clearly underscores a need for more training. What she should have done is READ the reservation & educate herself as to the customer & the reservation. When she realized it was a customer in the top 5-10% of IHG Rewards Members, she should have offered a cup of coffee --- a short lobby wait -- suggested a brief walk while a room "WAS BEING" prepared, since housekeeping is obviously finishing rooms on an ongoing basis, or shown ANY concern at all. A more clueless front desk employee we have not encountered at another hotel in recent memory. Even though we will return to Nuremberg 3 more times over the next 9 months, we will not return to Holiday Inn. Except for the female front desk employee, we found the hotel exceptionally clean; very pleasant; good location --- red light district is not as large or obvious as some European Cities, so not offensive; good public spaces; & pleasant & helpful staff.
One note: since there are some late night bars near the hotel entrances, ask for a room on the back side of the hotel & it will be much more quiet. As for the size of the rooms, those who talk about the large size & double sinks, etc. obviously had far superior accommodations to those we had. Our room was an OK size & furnished pleasantly, & similar in quality to US Holiday Inns & Express hotels. Beds hard as a rock, but that is not unusual in Germany or other countries.
