Visited on a Monday night fairly late (9.30pm) on and managed to get a table for four (actually just by sitting down). We were served our beers quickly, and the waitress wasn't fazed by us waiting for the other two diners to arrive.
On to the food, then. Simply put, this was the best meal we ate over the course of our 5 day trip. Could not fault anything at all. Everything is genuine, straight up German eats. Try the Käsespätzle but be warned - if you're dining with anyone else then you'll have to fend them off or you won't get to eat much of it!
Portion sizes are generous, menu options are just enough to make it hard to pick (all the more reason to go back) but not too vast to leave you at a loss. One of our party was a vegetarian and said she was spoiled for choice, something that is quite rare when dining out!
Prices are very fair, but please note that this place is CASH ONLY, as is the case with many restaurants in Berlin.
I can't quite give 5 stars, as we were kept waiting a little while after our mains had been cleared away and no-one checked back or asked if we wanted dessert. We did, but it got pretty late so I eventually managed to flag down a waitress for the bill. Still, the food, the atmosphere and the price of the place meant it wasn't really the end of the world.
Worth a visit for a great restaurant. Beer is brilliant, food is flawless. You will love this place.
