It was great to stay in this hotel with friends. We are 5 and stayed the room for actually for 4 people. It was perfect size for us. We ate the breakfast in the hotel but honestly it was not so good otherwise I give 5 stars for the hotel. The staffs are very friendly at the reception and cafés. One thing you should watch out is the shower floor is slippery!!

we only visited this bar with a small group of people for drinks. The seating inside the bar area and decor are subtle, cool and relaxing with an arty edge,
The staff are friendly and helpful , their service is top quality
Lots of small areas within which to relax and chat, with a great quad outside garden area well fitted with all sorts of different seating, like benches, relaxing settees and bed style raised areas. Had such a cool and relaxed feel to it, could easily spend hours there and added bonus of book library that you can use while visiting , don't miss!!

The Michelberger is a great hotel for creatives, artists and vibey people in general. They have a very eclectic style interior wise in the lobby with recycled magazines and old books all around. The rooms are less quirky but very comfortable and the loft rooms are very spacious. If you have a room facing the street there's obviously some noise.. Not only from the street but also from the trains/S-bahn across the street (Warschauer Strasse) and also from the DJ who plays some nights in the lobby. Get a room facing the back if possible. The rooms do not have Air Conditioning so you'll be wanting to have the windows open if you're there for the summer months.
The restaurant is really really good and they serve the best vegan breakfast I've ever had. Soo much to choose from! Vegan cake, rice pudding, beans, lentils, Hummus... Love their Plant Based Effort!
I also love the area.. Friedrichshain is epic. Go - stay - enjoy - comeback - repeat.

Room Tip: Go for a room facing the back rather than the street to avoid noise...

I stayed in the Michelberger last August and am amazed that I haven't been able to make it back since. It is honestly the best hotel I have ever been in. What a place! The most chill, funky spot in the city. Staff are laid back and friendly. It's the sort of environment conducive to taking it easy and having a drink. Squishy couches, an amazing courtyard and wonderfully quirky room design.

I visited with my sister and a friend and we shared a loft room. There was plenty of space for three people and the bathroom had Orla Kiely toiletries. This hotel has nailed unpretentious luxury. Ridiculously good prices for such a place.

Restaurant is also 10/10 - great food, great presentation. They also do excellent coffee and banana bread - top tip for during the day!

For starters, I was immediately taken with this hotel. Gorgeous unique lobby, which invites you to truly kick back. Design details are unparalleled. Most hotel lobbies are meant for waiting. This one says: grab some coffee and a good book, stack up some pillows and chill! Interior courtyard is equally inviting. Think backyard barbecue with a multitude of seating options which says: grab a beer and hang with a friend, soak in the eclectic relaxing atmosphere. The entire staff is genuinely warm and welcoming, and I am not sure if I have ever felt that type of authenticity at a hotel. Edgy, fun young neighborhood just a stones throw from East Side Gallery. Food options here are healthy and really delicious (a tad pricey). We took advantage of running across the street to Lidl food market for bargains galore.

The only disappointment: beds are not very comfortable. For the price you pay, I would really expect something that does not remind me of a summer camp mattress.

That aside, I loved this unique hotel experience.
