Owner description: The Pergamonmuseum is a three-wing complex. The museum houses three of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s collections: the Antikensammlung, Vorderasiatisches Museum, and the Museum für Islamische Kunst. The impressive reconstructions of massive archaeological structures – the Pergamon Altar, Market Gate of Miletus, the Ishtar Gate and Processional Way from Babylon, and the Mshatta Facade – have made the Pergamonmuseum famous throughout the world, with the result that it is the most visited museum at the Staatliche Museen and in Germany as a whole.

It's hard to add anything new to existing reviews of this world-class museum, but I would urge people to get there before the museum opens and before large tour groups arrive. There is so much to see, and the galleries fill up quickly. Don't try to see everything, but select the galleries that are most important to you. Depending on your stamina, plan to visit no more than 2 museums on Museum Island in one day.

We weren't sure whether we'd visit the Pergamon museum, so we had do wait for an hour to get in when we decided to go. It was definitely worth the wait! Even with it being under renovation, there is still so many great things to see!

The exhibits here are phenomenal. They include reconstructions of massive buildings and facades from the ancient near east.
The audio tour is excellent. Well worth a visit.

My teenage daughter is interested in classical civilisations, and we learned loads here about Babylon and Pergamon. Exhibits are amazing. Audio guide is included in price and quite informative.

Lots of construction going on, so you're limited to a few rooms. The Ishtar Gate and market gate are amazing and well worth a visit just for that. The Islamic portion was interesting as was the few rooms designated for ancient (and reconstructed) artifacts. We paid advanced tickets to skip the line, which were totally unnecessary.
