European art from the Middle Ages up to ca. 1800- German, Italian, Flemish, English and Fremch of a very high quality. It is pure pleasure to visit and see paintings by Cranach, Vermeer, Rembrandt ( 2 rooms!), Caravaggio, Brueghel, Botticelli etc. Dont miss it!

The Gemaldegalerie is a lovely little museum, near the Sony Center, just minutes away from Potsdamer Platz. I was there in March, and the museum was fairly empty. In many rooms, I was the only one there. Fantastic collection of Italian and Dutch Masters. There are a few lovely paintings by Botticelli and two Vermeers. The Glass of wine is a particular favorite of mine. If you are an art lover, take a few hours and peruse this museum.

You can find Rubens, Boticelli, Holbein, Van Dycke and many many more here. Huge gallery! Tickets are 10 eur adult, 5 eur reduced (student), and they are worth it. Audioguides are available in many languages. It is allowed to take photos inside (no flash). It is calm and silent, staff is taking care of everyone who wants to speak cell phone:) Very imprerssive, good experience.
