Berlin is a city of neighborhoods and accordingly there is no true central location- if you wanted to be centrally located then Potsdam Plaza is probably the best bet and this is the best hotel in that area. There is a mall right next door and a bunch of places to eat. If you are looking to see the sights in Berlin you should check out a better area- its sort of your typical shopping center. Still the bahn station is close by and you can easily walk to any of the sites and to maximize seeing them all you might want to stay here even if you never partake in any of the plaza shopping and eating. The train station here isn't the easiest to get to though and getting from the central station to here required a transfer.

This Hyatt is very modern and stylish. I don't usually think of Hyatts as trendy type hotels but this one was while still maintaining the usual things you expect from a nice hyatt hotel. The walls in the hallway almost seemed like cubicle walls yet the whole thing worked. The rooms were well designed and the bathroom was huge. In fact the walk in shower also had a bathtub in it, something I can't say I have seen before. The light system was a bit confusing. To turn the lights on in the room you must insert your key into the panel next to the door!!!! It took us about 10 minutes of flicking various switches to figure out this was how the light system worked. Maybe we are just slow but this was a bit annoying. The downstairs lobby was quite spacious and had a business center with 3 computers and free internet. The front desk staff was especially helpful and friendly. All in all a great hotel though the area its in isn't the most interesting even if it does provide relatively easy walks to the major sites.

We've stayed at this hotel twice now, in 2011 and 2012, and we love it. There is a very good fitness and wellness centre on the top floor, with a decent gym, spa, sauna and swimming pool. The breakfast is extensive and high quality. The staff have always been very welcoming and helpful. The rooms have stylish, modern decor and big, comfortable beds. The hotel is close to the tiergarten and you can walk to museum island (although it isn't a short walk). We didn't feel like going out for dinner one evening and ate in one of the hotel's restaurants. We don't usually like hotel restaurants, but the food was good quality and not at all overpriced.

I have just returned after 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt. A fabulous minimal but warm/welcoming totally 5* hotel right in the centre of the city but slightly set back from the Potsdamer Platz so quiet. Access to both the S and U-Bahn transport system is a few minutes walk so getting around is easy. Great attention to detail both in design of the large very comfortable bedrooms (fabulous bathrooms) and also the service which was faultless. A free bottle of water and fruit (apples) were replaced daily. The rooftop pool has views across the city and the largest whirlpool jacuzzi ever. The spa is, again, up to the minute with great facilities. I love sushi and being able to order a delicious selection via room service from the Vox restaurant made it for me!

Room Tip: All the rooms are large, well insulated and well appointed, but choose one overlooking the courtyard...

Sometimes its hard to pick a location when visiting Berlin. But if you stay (in Hyatt) near Postdamer platz in Mitte you can't go wrong.
Nice contemporery hotel, with relaxed but attentive staff, trendy minimalistic interiors and great rooftop spa (gym and pool). Maybe rooms need some update. And free internet should be standard nowadays.
Great hotel to relax after Berlin's wild nightlife.

Really nothing to complain about. Central to where I needed to be for work and lots to do closeby. I walked everywhere from here including the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Sony Center, Siegessäule Victory Column etc. Very friendly and gracious staff. Great breakfast and numerous eating options nearby. Very clean rooms with great bathrooms. Loved the walk in showers and heated floors. Just enough local flavor in the decor to remind you you werent in Dallas.

Room Tip: Talking to coworkers I got the impression there were no bad rooms
