“Relaxing way to see the sights”

Berlin City Cruises
Reviewed 8 October 2017

Our tour group had an excellent lunch before spreading out on the deck above, ducking under all the low bridges and ogling at the beautiful things we passed. If there had been a way to make announcements or give narrative along the way, that would have made this perfect. The bridges (as we passed under them) were identified by plaques.

This would come highly recommended as a must-do while in Berlin. The Spree River is a truly beautiful body of water.

One hour trip with the German and English speaking guide is very exiting. Do not seat at the back of the boat as sound is not very good their. You can buy tickets on the boat (14€ per adult).

We purchased took a one hour river cruise from a riverbank quay located only a very short distance from our Berlin hotel. Tickets were sold from a van parked in the street next to the quay. The tickets were not particularly cheap.
We were seated on plastic chairs located on an open deck above the main cabin of the boat.
They were not particularly comfortable with the warm afternoon sun beating down on us.
The sights to be seen along the river were reasonably interesting without being outstanding.
The boat passed through a river lock twice during the cruise. Once whilst going down river and then again on the return journey. This accounted for probably 10 minutes out of the total 60 minutes of the cruise.
This tourism experience was OK without being either great or a "must-do" activity!

Paid £35 a head for two tickets on line in the U.K. that I could purchase for €20 each at the departure point on the river. Loads of availability too, even in August! Don't waste your money on this total rip-off.

Berlin City Cruises are a great way to see this magnificent and historic city from a different perspective.
There are many tour cruises here, some range from 1 hours to 3 hours tours and will reveal facets of the city you cannot really take in from just walking around.
I cannot comment on the 3 hour tours but I can on the 1 hour tours which are perfect for me,these 1 hour tours roughly all start at about €10 or so and you will see such wonderful and iconic buildings such as the Reichstag,Berlin Cathedral and areas such as Museum Island and the beautiful Nikolvietel district.
If your a keen photographer don't forget the snapper as you will take some great photos of this city and if you choose the very popular sunset tour the buildings look magical when illuminated.
Refreshments can be purchased on board or you can book tour and dining cruises, whichever you choose the one thing your assured of is great views and a relaxing time.
If your planning a holiday in Berlin then I highly recommend you book a cruise and see this city from the majestic River Spree.
