The Ibis Brand is well known and this is true to type- good valuel, alll bases covered, sound amenities but closer to the Spartan end of Sppectrum than the luxurious - by a little. The room and all facilities were newish, clean and uncomlicated. The staff were proficient in languages and efficient inn rendering services.
I was there in Berlin Marathon week and it was close to full. On the night of checking in there was no option of food from their restaurant because it was booked out with a pasta night for runners - a nice idea but I thought there should have been some provision for guests. I ate there the next night and the food was good value. Breakfast was good but although there is a certain logic to the layout signage was inadequate and guests were often confused as to where to find coffe, plates, andother things- I was asked four different questions by other guests as to where to find things just because I was sitting near the servery! I answered at least one correctly- and no not on the staff. The location is one train stop from Potsdamer Platz Bahnhof. It is a bris 5 minute minimum walk. Close to many of the tourist sites - when I booked I assumed it was at Potsdamer Platz because of the name - foolish I guess but if mobility is an issue consider.More
