The restaurant is within the Westin Frankfurt but not a hotel restaurant but privately owned. I was not expecting a whole lot based on my experience eating Chinese in most major cities in the West but I was surprised. It was actually quite good. Service was good but then again there was husky anyone in the restaurant. Portions are quite big so you can skip variety when eating alone.

It is advertised on the westin grand website and it is adjoining to the hotel somehow. The deco is typical Chinese ( I used the term loosely here ) with red and black throughout. With large round tables and separate private rooms if you have a large party. The menu is extensive , good selections from different regions of the Far East. We have chosen spicy crispy eggplant, eggplant is battered and deep fried and quite oily. The second dish was stir fried wok mixed veggies, the dish is tasty enough but was thicken by flour. The third was numbing spicy ( their words not mine ) seafood hot pot, this was soak in half a liter of red oil and like the namesake it is hellishly spicy which for me is fantastic. The dish is served alongside a small sieve of which I used to fish the seafood out of that copious amount of oil. Personally I don't fancy the Sichuan pepper in this dish because of the after taste. It is overpowering everything else and stuck with you for a long while.
So for me , I think try it once if you want something different but for us I think this time will be the last. The price is reasonable. The service is courteous and at times funny. ( after I gave my two cents about the oil our waitress said they have reduced the amount by half which cracks me up )
For healthy eaters I would avoid.

On the Westin Grand receptionist's recommendation we chose the San San restaurant within the hotel for dinner as my wife was feeling too tired to go out. We ordered drinks, starters and main courses. The starters were lovely however when my wife's main course arrived, my meal didn't. She waited several minutes for mine to arrive and eventually had to begin eating as hers was going cold. We asked 3 different waiters where the food was but none bothered to come back to us with an answer. In the end, after waiting over 30 minutes we paid for what we had received and left.

Just because the restaurant is within the Westin complex, don't expect 5 star service.

The waiter do go the way to serve you 😆 The food you order comes to you on your own food trolley carted by the waitress from the kitchen to your table

The Chinese food is better than the restaurant Pak Choy, but it is not competible to local Chinese food in China. The spicy fish is quite spicy and good, and the noodles and rice that is always eaten in China is quite good.
