Hostess who greeted us did not speak English. Usually I can get seated in a restaurant in Germany with the ten words I know; for some reason this was not the case with her and someone else had to help us get seated - possibly the owner, who was nice. Considering the hotel is physically connected to a major upscale American hotel chain, this was surprising.
Rice paper spring rolls usually means "not fried". These were fried and rather bland too.
Husband's fried eggplant was very good. It arrived with his fried rice (bland - no egg as promised on menu, although the shrimp in it were fresh), but my dish was nowhere to be found. Ten minutes later I still didn't have my dish. I finally asked the waiter about it and he dismissed me with "it's coming". No apology or explanation. Several minutes later I gave up and - since he was not interested in checking on our table - I went to him at the front desk and asked him to cancel the order. He again said nothing but "it's coming" and I again repeated my request to cancel. This time he acknowledged my request, again no apology. Finally got the check and this time an apology - the kitchen had made a mistake. Too late by then for an apology. the explanation and apology should have come 20 minute earlier.
Oh, and they did not give us any napkins. When we requested some, the waiter gave us paper napkins. Every single other table in the room had cloth napkins.
The whole experience was very disappointing. We'd been on a six-hour train ride from Austria and were looking forward to a nice meal when we arrived. We picked the wrong place.
