Owner description: This bridge over the Rhine River can be crossed by foot or by train. Since 2008 padlocks have adorned a fence on the bridge, affixed by couples as a sign of love and commitment.

The Hohenzollern Bridge is full of 'love'-lockers from all kinds of couples.
The oldest locker I saw was from the '60s. This is a train bridge and for pedestrians too. A very nice walk and a good way to cross the river. On the other side is among other things the high glass tower, where you can go up to the roof in an elevator in half a minute.
All very amusing and nice.

First of all, let's put things straight - this is an railway bridge. Trains go back and forth all the time.
On the second hand, this bridge has nice walking part on each side connecting two sides of the Rhein into long promenade.
The main reason people come to see the bridge is because of endless locks with inscriptions chained on each side. In all forms, in all possible languages but always with two names - who promised to be together forever (would interesting to check how many actually kept the promise).

As a bonus, you get superb views on the Dom, Gross St. Martin and the rest of Altstadt.

Definitely worth spending time.

On the river Rhein it is one of the most significant one!The Hohenzollern Bridge is considered to be an essential part of Cologne because it connects the central station to a variety of European cities on the other side of the Rhine. It is also known for its popularity as a charming spot for lovers to take a romantic stroll. Beautiful views of the city and river can be found atop this 409-metre bridge.

If your traveling to Cologne, this is a must see. What a wonderful site to see all the locks. I will say that if you plan ahead, bring a lock from home. I was surprised how few places sell locks. Perhaps they are trying to discourage it. Someone could make a fortune if they just sat outside selling locks near the bridge. The first time we went we found on,y one store near the cathedral that sold locks. The second visit I brought my own lock from home. I got a rather unique lock, which was special that it stood out from all the others.

This bridge is amazing, it's also called the love lock Bridge (guess why) if your into history and architecture it's a must. It is also a love lock Bridge, which I loved. I highly recommend a walk over as the views are great and you get to see all the locks, it's a great photo opportunity and the chance to add your lock! I recommend bringing your own or buying one outside of the area to save money as stalls around here charge around 4-6 €, I recommend a visit the Koln triangle if your here, it's a tall building over the river and it's €3 to the top and you have 360 views of dublin
