The receptionist was very friendly and after discussing the breakfast options he realised that there wouldn't be very much for us vegans so he only charged us for one breakfast, much appreciated.
Our room (no 203) was really spacious, beautiful and spotlessly clean, with plenty of seating. Although being at the front of the hotel which is on a busy road, we heard very little traffic noise, the hotel was quiet except for the family room above which seemed to house a herd of elephants. We slept really well in the big and very comfortable bed with crisp white linen. Shower room was good too with a great shower. Both in the room and shower room there were plenty of surfaces to put 'stuff'. The only slight niggle we had was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities despite a worktop which could have accommodated it. This seems to be common in Germany though. There is no guest lounge at the hotel.
It's only a short walk to the Porta Nigra and into the very centre of the city. The hotel has good parking facilities at the back at 8 euros per night. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel, we'll definitely be back for a longer stay so we have more time to explore historic Trier!

Stayed with my family for 1 night in August. Hotel is 7 min walk from Porta Nigra in Trier. It is clean, quiet room, beds comfortable and everything functioning. No air conditioning. Paid parking is available at the back of the hotel or on the street. We did not eat in the hotel. Price is in moderate range for this area. I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Not facing the street

I had the opportunity to have a room at a top floor with a lovely balcony. My room was large and very clean. The bathroom was great with a nice shower. People of the hotel were kind and helpful when needed. The breakfast was nice. The hotel is located nearby the porta Negra. The price was a bit above 100€ for a room for one night with a parking slot.

About 5 minute walk to the Porta Nigra, which is the entry point to the old city. Parking at the hotel for a small fee. Rooms are fully modernized and comfortable. We had the family room on the top floor, which is a split level spacious room including kitchenette and dining table. Breakfast was generous. The hotel suffers from one defect that many German hotels have; lack of climate control. We were in Trier on a hot day (30+C) and the room and breakfast room quickly become a furnace. Perhaps something to consider in the next renovation round.

Staff very friendly. Parking great...there is a fee. Room clean...bed comfortable...motorized drapes fantastic! The drapes really block out light if you are dealing with jet lag.
Trier was a great location to explore the countryside as well. Went to Eltz Castle and Cochem from there.
