This church is stunning inside. The paintings and decoration around the walls and on the roof are beautiful, and the church itself has a wonderfully warm and welcoming feel to it. It is a large church, but embraces visitors.

It is possible to climb up the church's tower, for a fee, and the views of Dresden from the top of the tower are amazing and quite extensive.

The Frauenkirche's restoration from its total destruction in the firebombing in 1945 was truly miraculous. For many, this is the main reason to visit Dresden. If you go to Dresden and don't spend time studying this magnificent structure and learning its history, you haven't seen Dresden.

We were in Dresden for business and had the chance of a 45 minute English language tour.

The guide was very well informed, full of facts and little stories.

Very emotional.

Highly recommended.

Climb up to the dome if you can. Its worth the admission fee. The view from the top is stunning. Nice view of the elbe river and dresden old town. Be prepared to spend at least 45min to an hour here, or even longer if you want to enjoy the view.

We were driving from Berlin to Prague and while you really don't a stop (it's less than 4 hours straight through), it's worthwhile to stop in Dresden. It's very walkable and everything is close, including the Castle and the Fürstenzug (Procession of Princes). Both are of significant importance. But the Frauenkirche is really what draws you in. It's hard to believe what is around you once you see what Dresden looked like at the end of World War II. Take some time, and whether you visit the basement or climb the dome, just take in the beauty of it all. Breathtaking.
