The most interesting parts / items are that there is possible to see also units from east-germany decades, among other interesting vehicles etc. but it's also important that older than 50's are well shown. And every form / section of transportation.

This is a modest museum, but it has a very interesting collection with good descriptions in German AND English. Kids will enjoy the colorful cars and airplanes, but "serious" gear heads will also enjoy the surprising details surrounding each exhibit. Not a long visit, but a worthwhile one.

We had the unexpected bonus of free entry to the museum as we visited Dresden on the weekend of their Steam Festival.
The museum has a small selection of Railway exhibits which my husband enjoyed, and a little model railway, which was very good. There are also displays of cars and aircraft.

General overview of the history of transportation by land, sea, rail and air. Also interactive so kids learn by participating. Specially the experiments in the aviation section and the model railroad in O scale are interesting for children. Check the hours of the modelrailroad exhibition because it is only accessible at specific times.

We visited on a rainy day and found the exhibits on all 3 floors interesting. The mini model railway was also very good and we saw it running when we were there at 4pm.
Admission was 9eurosfor adults and we spent about 4 hours reading about all the vehicles on display - most have a UK translation for those that do not speak German.
Overall good for all age groups
