If you really want to experience the Andalusian lifestyle, culture and tradition, this is the hotel to stay at. We had a car and that made it easy for us to stay here. The hotel is located up the mountain, about 16 km from Malaga, so easy access is not a strong point. But... the hotel is made up of a few different building, each room decorated in a different way. We stayed on the flowers floor and our room was very romantic with a quaint floral design. The furniture was very traditional, made of reconditioned wood and forged iron. The bathroom was exquisite, with traditional style tiles and fixtures. It was very clean and comfy.
the pool was not very big but the scenery from the pool was breathtaking. The buildings were all very careful decorated and every little corner inside and out was just perfect.
there were a few disadvantages though: the breakfast wasn't very rich but it was sufficient, the access road prom the main street is very narrow and rather hidden, we were warned that there might be snakes in the garden at night.
We were there in august 2014

Room Tip: it's just a matter of what decor you preffer

We stayed here for three nights before we went to our villa. It took about 40 minutes from Malaga airport to get here, up a winding mountain road. My goodness, what a find I am so glad I booked here. When we arrived it was quite late so there seemed to be hardly anyone around my husband and the teenage boys were very sceptical, they agreed it was stunning but no-one was about.

We were showed to our rooms which were beautiful and spotless. We had a bit of a problem with the boys room we spoke to the gentleman and were quickly given another room. Unfortunately due to no fault of their own the air conditioning had broken down, we got a fan and they promised the boys one the next day, which they got that morning.

Breakfast, I think, was 5euros extra but worth it as you are in the middle of no-where and also it was lovely. You could have as much coffee, juice and water as you wanted there was fruit, cheese, meats, bread, rolls and cereal, again, you help yourself to as much as you want.

The Hotel is so beautiful and well maintained inside and outside. The pool area beautiful and even in the height of summer no scramble for sunbeds at all at any time during the day. Spectacular views all around. We ate at this restaurant in the evening, to be honest you are a little limited with places to go as it is quite quiet, but the food was lovely and not too badly priced.

For the boys there was tennis courts, a little mini-golf and a pool table including the pool. There was also WI FI in the reception area.

We took ourselves off for a little walk and found a traditional village bar/restaurant. It was so cheap we did eat here one night the gentleman could not speak a word of English and we very, very limited Spanish but we made ourselves understood. The starters were amazing so I would suggest to definitely go there and have lots of starters like a tapas, dinner was not so good, BUT, you should go for the welcome, the views, the good wine and the atmosphere it was fantastic.

Slyvia on reception was an absolute dream really pro-active, friendly and helpful any problem was sorted with a really friendly smile. This place is so worth a visit especially before you go into the livelier area of Malaga and the surrounding area. It is so relaxing with fabulous views at a very reasonable price compared to the big hotels. The teenage boys really enjoyed it too as they did have stuff to do but would not have wanted to go for longer, me I could have stayed for longer I loved it.

Thank you.

Room Tip: I would recommend asking for an upper floor.

Very nice hotel with specific flair of old Spanish hacienda located quite far away of civilization. Very good local Spanish food in the restaurant in the evening.
We had problem with water in the morning. Water is provided by tank car. We had to wait almost half a day for water. No towels for swimming pool were available and breakfast quite Spartan style. So if atmosphere and silence is most important for you - go for it! Hopefully you will not have loud children shouting in the pool as we had. But it was just two loud Spanish families. It can happen!

Room Tip: Nice junior suite 105

A wonderful find just up the "mountain" from city center Malaga. This is a great get-away from it all location. Rustic, quiet, friendly and helpful staff, well-prepared food, (had dinner and breakfast) and a nice house wine. The sunrise, with the mountains in view, was stunning. There are 3 walking trails - mapped out, on paper and with trail blazes - one walk takes you by an abandoned mine. Good for one night to just gather your thoughts and relax away from the beach crowd. Listed as a 4-star hotel...needs a bit of work to gain that level of luxury from me. I will return if I make it back to Malaga.

This hotel lies lovely in the mountain area to the north of Malaga. The views are astonishing and the terrace is beautiful. The rooms are old with not all facilities expected from a four-star hotel, like a fridge, available. The swimming pool is excellent.
