We went in for a drink and possibly something to eat in this well situated venue with it's attractive terrace at the riverside.
We had a cool reception and then a long wait to order. The staff seemed disinterested and offhand. Our Rioja wine was served very chilled and there was no further attempt to engage with us.
Having made an effort to find the restaurant in the intense heat of the evening, we left feeling rather disappointed.

Given the prime riverside position of this restaurant, we had anticipated that it would be more tourist than gourmet, but this really was a bad experience. The waitress did not listen, then got upset when she brought something we had not ordered. From that point, things went from bad to worse. She was offhand to the point of insolence, upset other prospective diners so that they walked out and, at one point, coughed all over food she was about to serve - fortunately, not ours! The food was extremely average especially as we all ordered fish and it was a fish restaurant. Would definitely not recommend anyone to use Kiosco de las Flores.

The one good point is position, i.e. it sits on the river bank and is close to a bridge so walkable from the old town.

The service is pleasant enough although some of the staff don't speak any English so ordering can be an ordeal if you don't speak Spanish.

The food is awful. Everything and I mean everything is covered in salt crystals, from the salad to the fish. 4 of us had a selection of different dishes and every single plate was covered in salt. The chef must have no taste buds whatsoever. It's also pot luck what temperature the red wine is delivered, varying from warm to ice cold.

This place advertises itself as specialising in fish. Take it from me, it doesn't.

Best advice. Don't go here.

OK, We were tired, hungry and thirsty so we walked in we ignored all our usual rules for choosing a restaurant whilst in a new city! will we ever learn? well at least it makes you appreciated good food and service when you get it!

The waiter was old school type of guy and had little patience with our poor Spanish! and he couldn't or wouldn't talk English.... anyway we ordered fish because they boast about fish being their thing! it ain't, it was horrible, oily and way too much salt! everything that came out of the kitchen was covered in salt! the 1st bottle of Rioja was splendid, perfect temperature, the second was ice cold and tasted unlike the 1st!

Will put this one down to experience, only served a s a reminder for us to do your homework!

The food is a total disaster. They say, they are famous for their fried fish. Well, somebody's got to believe it... The food came so fast, it literally flew out of the kitchen. Maybe it was frightened to death by what it seen before... Staff was friendly but so forgetful, that people, who suffer from Alzheimer disease would be a real thread to them. Better run as long as you can and seek asylum in one of the bars nearby.
